Zion Life Kingdom

“Zion Life Kingdom Church is not like any church. It is where we celebrate God and each other.” When speaking with my longtime friend of over twenty-five years, Pastor Lawrence Lundy, his passion was in his mission statement. In having a desire to bring the Word of God to the World and educate those called to the ministry, Pastor Lundy is moving forward with the vision given to him. He often expressed, “Without faith, it is impossible to please Him.”

Called into the ministry at the age of 19, Lawrence Lundy was a drummer, only thought to want to play drums on Sunday. During a service, he described, what he felt was the Lord tugging at his heart to do more in the ministry. Lawrence decided to answer the call and preached his trial sermon at Greater Southern Church in Detroit, Michigan. Growing up in a God fearing home, where his father was an Assistant Pastor, his parents were never wavering and stood strong on their faith. Lawrence begin to learn and understand his calling more under the leadership of Pastor Mark Holloway of then, New Love Ministries.

As years passed, Lawrence found himself in the Hampton Roads area. While finding his way in life, Lawrence was brought into the ministry of Bishop Felton Hawkins of the Full Gospel Kingdom Church. Bishop Hawkins took him in as a Spiritual Son in the gospel. He encouraged and nurtured his spirit to flourish into a pastor of his own church. Lawrence was then called back to his hometown of Detroit, and begin the work God placed in his heart as the pastor of Zion Life Kingdom Church.

As Zion Life Kingdom Church has grown, so has Pastor Lundy. He developed a passion for the people in learning how to navigate through his own experiences. Pastor Lundy expressed that God speaks to everyone differently and as a pastor, he has to silence himself and hear the Word of God. Recently, Pastor Lundy has relocated with his family to Columbus, Ohio. As Zion Life Kingdom Church continues to push towards the vision, Pastor Lundy has entered a new space in God. He is learning to adapt his ministry to reach people that is not always receptive to the natural Word. This has created a positive opportunity for his goals of opening a Christian Childhood Development Center, a Ministerial School, and reaching a youthful generation through technology.
